Flying High

A lot has happened the last few weeks. I'll start with Ohio. We've been in communication with some of the administrators from Will's residency, they want some "hard evidence" that Will is doing well enough to begin the trek back to residency. We will spend the next few weeks gathering that "evidence" with tests and letters from a few local doctors. We have to admit it is a little nerve racking not knowing what will come next-- but I imagine that the battle we all go through-- moving forward with faith, knowing the Lord will prepare the way as we continue to be faithful.

In the meantime we are "flying high," Will's progress continues to manifests itself in the day to day routines. I no longer need to coax Will to study --- he does it on his own. His executive functioning continues to amaze me. Will is still shadowing at the U of U hospital on a regular basis, with both the Cardiology and Internal Medicine departments. And he still volunteers at Globus Relief when he finds the time. He also keeps the finances here at home rolling-- which is very nice for me as I have been the responsible party in this area until this past month. As for projects Will organized his piles of papers in our back room. You can only imagine how they have built up over the past year..... bills, medical files, bank statements, loan information, etc. Organization is another piece of the puzzle to finally emerge in the past months.

Will's recovery is starting to make sense. In the symphony of our minds - each player is required to practice on his own (as Will did in the first year proceeding his stroke recovery). Then later the soloist begin to listen to the other instruments and harmonize with them -- keeping in tune and on beat with the melody (June 09) -- beautiful music begins to flow (August 09). Music that inspires and lifts. Will's mind is finally preforming to speed with the other instruments-- before long I believe he will be back in the seat of first stand -- leading the orchestra-- as he was before the stroke. Keep reading and watching as our symphony unfolds -- life is a beautiful thing. I hope all who read this blog recognize what a blessing it is to live in a time of so much information where our minds are able to preform in extraordinary ways.

Summer

ps Above are pictures of Will's first time flying a kite. Next, photos of a family vacation I forgot to post a few weeks ago of us at the camp site, Will "surfing" in the nearby river, and of course a shot of our naughty nephews shooting marshmallows at us-- caught in the act.
